How does a breathwork session work?
A breathwork session is held in a safe, private and nurturing room/environment . A typical session usually starts with a sharing of what has been going on with your life. The focus of our conversation will be on what positives you want to establish in place of currently held negatives. This may or may not actually be the major content of the session, but it's a start in exploring what blocks, emotions or habits might need to be cleared.
Then we'll go into the breathing portion of the session, in which you'll lie down and breathe for about an hour. I will guide you to breathe in a conscious and connected way, with no pause between the inhale and the exhale. The breathing is full and relaxed. The breathing will last for about an hour and you will be conscious throughout the whole session. As your breathworker, I will be supporting and guiding you throughout the breathing session.
It is followed by some resting time for integration, and we will complete the session with a sharing of experience and insights from the session and I will recommend affirmations or other actions if there is a need.
A complete breathwork session lasts around 2 hours to 2.5 hours. Generally, my first sesison with client will be a 3 hour session. Each session is complete in itself and each time you are supported to go as far and as deep as you are ready to go in that moment. Recurring themes are common, however, no two sessions are ever alike.
Some sessions can be quite subtle and inner while others can be cathartic and releasing. As the process works on a number of levels ,results will be seen and felt on different levels. Some sessions are very clear in their outcome while in others the client may feel and experience the results over a period of time in their lives.
At times it may feel like nothing is happening - nothing is never happening and the session is always a reflection of what is happening in your life. Fear, resistance and holding may arise for some clients - by working with these feelings and sensations it is addressing these issues in life.
